England back Jack Nowell: “The tournament is very special, you don’t get many chances to put on an England shirt and this Six Nations is one of the biggest ones. For us this year is something we want to attack and put all our focus on Italy.”

“You definitely feel the buzz from fans, people looking in but especially from the players.”

“Simmo has been playing extremely well for us at Exeter and to see him get the nod a eight, I’m sure he is going to do extremely well.”

Italy head coach Conor O’Shea: “We think we’re in a miles better place than we were 12 months ago. I think we have a better foundation than people understand in our game.

“We will go for it and we won’t die wondering as opposed to being secure. I’m energised because I know we’re making progress.”
